Marrakech tour prices: what is included
Every tour includes your licensed local guide for the time stated. The guide explains the sights, leads the way and keeps unwanted offers away.
Food tours include the tastings listed on the tour page. Cooking classes include ingredients. Pickup is included where a car can reach your riad or hotel, and otherwise we meet you at a nearby point.
What is not included
Entrance tickets to sites are not included unless the tour page says so. Examples are the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, the Ben Youssef Madrasa and the Majorelle Garden. Your guide tells you the cost in advance.
Drinks, meals outside the tour and souvenirs are also extra. We write this on each page, so you can plan your budget.
Private or shared tours
Most city tours are private for your group. That means the guide is only yours, and you set the pace. Prices are per person, so a larger group simply multiplies the cost.
If you prefer to meet other travellers, ask us about shared options. We also give a quote for large groups and for custom days.
Tipping your guide
A tip is not included in the price. Many visitors give their guide a tip if they enjoyed the day. It is a personal choice and never required.
If you are unsure, ask your guide or us. We explain what visitors usually give, and there is no pressure at all.
How to pay
You book now and pay on the day of your tour, directly to your guide. No payment is needed to hold your date.
Cash in dirhams is easiest, and we tell you the amount when we confirm. Ask us about other options before the tour if you prefer something else.
Why our prices are fair
Prices cover a licensed guide and fair pay for their work. We do not use commission shops to make money behind your back. What you see is what you pay.
If you find a cheaper tour, check what it includes. Very low prices often mean shop stops, large groups or an unlicensed guide.
How to compare Marrakech tour prices
When you compare tours, look beyond the number. Check the length, the group size, whether the guide is licensed and whether the tour stops at shops. Also check whether tickets and tastings are included.
A cheaper tour with three shop stops and twenty people can cost you more in the end. A fair price for a small, honest tour usually gives you better value and a calmer day.
Planning your budget for the day
Add up the tour price, the entrance tickets, a lunch and a tip if you wish. Then keep a little extra for tea, small gifts and taxis. This gives you a realistic daily budget.
Your guide can also suggest where to eat well at fair prices. Many guests are surprised how little a good lunch costs when a local chooses the place. If your budget is tight, tell us. We suggest the tours and the free sights that give you the most for your money.
Changes and cancellations
Plans change, and we understand. Write to us on WhatsApp as early as you can if you need to move your date. We will do our best to find a new time that suits you.
Because you pay on the day, there is nothing to refund if you let us know in advance.
Questions and answers
How do I choose a good tour guide in Marrakech?
Look for a licensed local guide, clear prices, a way to contact them before the tour and honest independent reviews. Avoid anyone who approaches you in the street and insists. Book in advance for a calmer experience.
Who is the best tour guide in Marrakech?
The right guide depends on what you want. Compare licences, language, interests, prices and independent reviews. A good guide is honest, knowledgeable and relaxed. We recommend that you ask questions before you book.
What is the difference between a guide and a tout?
A guide is a licensed professional who is accountable and gives a clear price. A tout is someone in the street who leads visitors to shops for commission. Booking ahead helps you avoid touts.
Can I hire a private guide for my family?
Yes. A private guide can take one person, a couple or a family. The guide adapts the pace and stops to the children and adults in your group.
Do your guides speak English?
Yes. All our tours run in English. If you need another language, ask us before you book. We tell you honestly whether a guide who speaks it is available on your date.
Can I ask for a female guide?
You can ask. We tell you honestly whether a female guide is available on your date, and we do not promise one that we cannot provide. Write to us on WhatsApp as early as possible.
