A private guide in Marrakech turns a confusing city into an easy one. You meet at your riad or hotel, agree a plan, and then walk with someone who knows every lane. Because the group is only yours, nobody rushes you and nobody decides for you.
Many people ask whether they really need a guide here. You can certainly explore alone. However, a Marrakech tour guide saves time, explains what you see and handles the small hassles, so your holiday feels relaxed from the first hour.
Why hire a private guide in Marrakech
The medina has thousands of lanes, and few of them have signs. A private guide means you never worry about directions, prices or which turn to take. Instead, you ask questions and spend your energy on what interests you.
A guided day also teaches you things a map cannot. For example, your guide explains why doors have two knockers, who built the palaces and which crafts still survive. As a result, the city starts to make sense.
A stress-free visit, without harassment
Visitors sometimes meet touts, people who offer to show the way and then ask for money, or sellers who follow you for several streets. This is part of life in busy tourist areas, and most of it is meant kindly. Even so, it can tire you quickly.
With a private guide beside you, it mostly stops. Your guide greets people politely, says no for you in Arabic or French, and keeps fake guides and pushy sellers at a distance. You stay calm, and nobody is offended.

3Who your tour guide is
Your guide is a local, licensed professional who speaks good English and has learned the history of the city properly. They know the difference between a family workshop and a shop that pays commission.
Honesty matters most to us. If a place is overpriced, your guide says so. If something is closed or not worth the queue, you hear it before you go. We never send you to a shop because it pays us. You choose where to spend money.
Plan your day: routes, pace and extras
You choose between four hours and eight hours. First, tell us what you like: architecture, crafts, gardens, food or simply wandering. Then your guide builds a route. You can change it on the day if something catches your eye.
For places outside the old walls, such as the new town or the Palmeraie, we can add a car with driver. In addition, if you prefer a female guide, ask us and we will tell you honestly whether one is available for your date.

5Practical details before you book
We meet at your riad door, your hotel or the nearest gate if cars cannot reach you. Wear comfortable shoes, because the lanes are uneven. Cover your shoulders and knees if you plan to enter religious sites that welcome visitors.
Mornings are the best time for walking, as the lanes are quieter and cooler. In summer we start early and rest in the afternoon. The pace is yours, so tell your guide if you need more breaks.
