In short
- Our guides were born here or have lived here for many years.
- Every tour page shows the price per person, what is included and what is not.
- Some tours stop at shops that pay the guide a commission.
- We look for a licence first.
We work with local guides in Marrakech who live in the city, speak your language and love showing it to people. They know the lanes, the history and the small stories that books leave out.
We started Guiding Marrakech because many visitors feel nervous in the medina. They worry about getting lost, about pushy sellers and about prices that change. We wanted a simple, honest alternative.
Local guides in Marrakech who know the city
Our guides were born here or have lived here for many years. They know the families, the craftsmen and the best time of day for each place. That knowledge cannot be learned from a book.
They are licensed, which means they trained and passed official requirements. They also care about the city, and they share its culture with respect.
2Honest tours, clear prices
Every tour page shows the price per person, what is included and what is not. You do not pay online. You pay your guide on the day, after you have met.
If something changes, we tell you straight away. We would rather lose a booking than mislead a guest.

No commission shops, no harassment
Some tours stop at shops that pay the guide a commission. We do not do this. Our guides take you to artisans because the work is worth seeing, not because of a hidden deal.
With a guide beside you, unwanted offers in the street nearly stop. You walk without stress, and you can look, ask questions and leave without buying.
How we choose our local guides in Marrakech
We look for a licence first. Then we look at how a guide speaks with guests, how well they know the history, and how they treat people in the street. Kindness matters as much as knowledge.
We also listen to feedback from guests. If a guide does not meet our standard, we stop working with them.

5Sightseeing, your way
Some guests want history. Others want food, photos or a slow day. We ask you what you enjoy, and the guide shapes the tour around you.
Private tours let you set the pace. You can stop for tea, skip a site or ask the guide a hundred questions. It is your day.
6Support when you need it
Real people answer our messages on WhatsApp, usually within a few hours. We help you choose a tour, find your meeting point and change plans if needed.
Before your tour, we send a clear message with the meeting place, the time and the name of your guide. On the day, the guide welcomes you, checks your plan and asks what you most want to see.
If you have a problem during the tour, tell your guide or write to us. We want you to leave feeling that Marrakech welcomed you.

7What a tour with us feels like
You meet your guide at an easy point, often near your riad. You shake hands, talk about your wishes and set off. The pace is gentle, and there is no script to follow.
Along the way, the guide tells stories, answers questions and points out small details. You stop for tea when you like. Nobody pushes you into a shop, and nobody rushes you out of a place you enjoy.
At the end, you pay the agreed price. If you enjoyed the day, you may leave a tip, as many visitors do. Then your guide gives you ideas for the rest of your stay.
8Why choose local guides in Marrakech over a big group tour
Big group tours move fast and follow a fixed route. You often see more of the bus than of the city. A local guide moves at your speed and can change the plan on the spot.
A small walk also lets you ask real questions. You hear honest answers about daily life, about work, food and traditions. That kind of conversation turns a list of sights into a real understanding of the city.

9Respect for the city and its people
We respect the sellers, the artisans and the families who live in the medina. We never ask guests to be rude, and we never mock anyone. Marrakech is a home first, and a destination second.
We ask our guests to dress modestly, to ask before taking photos of people and to be patient. Our guides explain these habits kindly.
