A Marrakech street art tour is different from one in Berlin or Lisbon, and we say so openly. The scene is modest. However, the city has painted doors, a few murals and a lively contemporary art community that most visitors never see.
Your local guide links these pieces together, so the morning makes sense. You walk, ask questions and take your time. Prices start from €35 per person, and you book now and pay on the day.
1What a Marrakech street art tour really looks like
Street art in Marrakech is small in scale. You will not find whole districts covered in murals. Instead, you find painted walls, decorated doors and occasional pieces by Moroccan artists, and some of them change from month to month.
Because of that, we build the route around what is current. Your guide checks the day before, then adds galleries and design spaces to fill the gaps. As a result, you see real work rather than a long walk to an empty wall.
2From the medina to Gueliz, the modern side of the city
Most visitors stay inside the medina walls. This sightseeing tour also takes you to Gueliz, the newer part of Marrakech, where the streets are wide and the mood is more relaxed. A short car ride connects the two areas.
In Gueliz you step into contemporary galleries and small design shops. Many galleries are free to enter, although opening hours vary. Your guide explains who the artists are, how they work and how the local scene has grown.

A guide who keeps the day stress-free and without harassment
Marrakech can feel pushy at first. Touts, fake guides and insistent sellers approach visitors, especially near the main squares. When you walk with an official guide, they politely keep these people away, and the walk stays calm.
We also avoid commission shops. Your guide does not steer you into stores that pay for visitors. If you want to buy a print, a ceramic or a piece of clothing, you can ask for an honest opinion on price and quality.
Your private guide: local, licensed and honest
Your private guide is from Marrakech and holds a licence to guide visitors in the city. They speak good English and know the art scene as well as the old streets. Ask us if you prefer a female guide, and we will tell you honestly whether one is available.
Moreover, a knowledgeable guide does not read from a script. They answer your questions, admit when they do not know something and adjust the day to your interests. That honesty is the point of the tour.

Practical details: meeting point, pace and what to wear
We meet at your riad, your hotel or the nearest gate, and the tour lasts about three hours. The pace is easy, with a coffee stop near the end. Morning is usually best, because the light is softer and the streets are quieter.
Wear comfortable shoes, because the medina has uneven ground. Bring a hat, water and a phone or camera. Please ask before you photograph people, and your guide will help with that.
