A Marrakech shopping tour makes the souks easier and more fun. Your private guide helps you choose well, pay fair prices and avoid common traps. You can shop calmly, because someone who knows the market is on your side.
Please note one important thing. Your guide takes no commission from any shop. That means the advice is honest, and you decide what to buy. Prices start from €30 per person.
1What to buy on a Marrakech shopping tour
Good choices include leather bags and slippers, ceramics, brass and iron lamps, rugs, spices and argan oil. Tell your guide what you like and your budget, and the route follows. You might skip lamps and focus on rugs, or the other way round.
Your guide also explains what to skip. Some items look handmade but come from factories elsewhere. Others are fine, but overpriced. With honest advice, you spend on things you will love at home.
2Bargaining and fair prices in the souks
Bargaining is normal in Morocco, and it is meant to be friendly. Your guide shows you how to open with a fair price and take your time. You learn when to smile, when to pause and when to walk away.
Prices differ from stall to stall. A guide helps you compare quality before you compare cost. In addition, you visit a few fixed-price shops and concept stores. They give you a calm benchmark, so you know when a souk price is reasonable.

Shopping without pressure, touts or fake guides
Many visitors dislike the sales pressure in the souks. Touts offer to lead you to a cousin's shop. Fake guides appear and ask for payment afterwards. Some sellers follow you down the lane. All of this is tiring, and it can spoil the day.
Your guide keeps these approaches away, politely and firmly. We are also clear about commission. Many guides earn a share of what you spend, but ours do not. They take you only to places you ask to see or that they honestly recommend.
Your local, licensed and knowledgeable shopping guide
Your guide is a licensed local who knows the souks, the makers and the going prices. They can tell a good stitch from a poor one, and a real weave from a machine copy. English is the standard language, with others on request.
They are honest, too. If you ask whether a rug is worth the price, you get a straight answer. If you decide to buy nothing, that is fine. A good day of shopping can also end with a coffee and a few ideas.

5Practical information for your shopping tour
We meet you at your riad or hotel, or at the nearest gate. The tour lasts about three hours. Wear comfortable shoes and light clothing, and carry cash in small notes. Cards are accepted in some shops, but not in small stalls.
Mornings are cooler and calmer. Your guide can help you carry purchases or arrange shipping for large items. Always check shipping costs and timing before you pay. Access is on foot through busy lanes, so tell us about mobility needs in advance.
