A Marrakech photography tour works best with someone who knows the streets. The medina is full of colour, texture and shadow, but it is also busy, and good frames take time. A local guide gives you that time and keeps the interruptions away.
You can shoot with a phone or a camera, and every skill level is welcome. Prices start from €50 per person. You book now and pay on the day.
1Why a photography tour in Marrakech helps
Marrakech looks easy to photograph, yet it is not. Lanes are narrow, the light changes fast and the best doors and courtyards are not on the main routes. On your own, you can spend an hour and come home with very little.
Your guide plans the route around the sun on your day. Therefore you reach the tiled walls and quiet squares when the light is soft, and you reach the busy places when they are most interesting.
Photographing people with respect
Some people are happy to be photographed, and others are not. Craftsmen in the lanes often welcome a camera when someone has asked politely. Performers in the square usually expect a small tip.
Your guide helps you ask first, explains when to put the camera away and shares a photo afterwards if you like. This respect gives you better portraits and leaves a good impression.

3A stress-free walk without touts or pushy sellers
Photography needs calm, and Marrakech is not always calm. Touts, fake guides and pushy sellers often approach someone who is standing still with a camera. With an official guide beside you, they politely keep these people away.
You can stop, crouch, wait for a face in a doorway and take your time. Your guide also avoids commission shops, so nobody pulls you away from a good scene to look at carpets.
Your private guide: local, licensed and knowledgeable
Your private guide is a licensed local who knows the medina, the craft lanes and the rooftop views. They speak English and will happily talk about composition, exposure and street photography, whatever you shoot with.
They are honest, too. If a place looks better at another time of day, they say so and change the plan. Ask us if you prefer a female guide, and we will tell you honestly whether one is available.

5Practical details: timing, kit and pace
Early morning and late afternoon give the softest light, and we choose the time with you when you book. The tour lasts about three hours, with a rooftop view and a mint tea stop. We meet at your riad, your hotel or the nearest gate.
Bring a light bag, a spare battery and comfortable shoes. A walk-around lens is enough. Please leave drones at home, because the rules in Morocco are strict. Dress modestly to feel at ease.
